Why is it that with every new trend that emerges my mother reminds me of a time in her youth when she also owned the key piece of the season? From hearing this for some years now Ive come to blame my mother for the fact that I cant throw anything out. The most exciting use of colour, silhouette and styling in my eyes comes from Hermes, Autumn/Winter 10/11 collection shown in gay Paris where Jean Paul Gaultier creates the perfect replica of an androgynous yet sexual New York Woman. The masculine theme running through the entire collection packs more of a punch for the camel coat, that can often look whimsical and washed out with certain styling. The combination of black leather, bowler hats and sharp masculine tailoring creates great attitude and edginess to the seasons trend.
